Senator Orji Described as a Voice of Abians in the Senate

The Senator representing Abia Central in the Senate, Senator T. A Orji has been described as voice of Abians in the Nigerian Senate.

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu stated this while speaking at the third year anniversary of Senator T. A Orji in the National Assembly, held at the Gallery of Equity and Democracy, said Senator Orji does not only represent Abia Central but indeed Abia state in general.

Sir Oko Chukwu further stated that Senator T. A Orji was instrumental to the relative peace being enjoyed in the state today and charged the present day leaders to emulate the leadership qualities of Senator Orji. He enjoined the people of Abia central to ensure that Senator Orji is returned to the Senate come 2019.

Also speaking, the chairman of the event, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya described Senator Orji’s representation as full of monumental achievements. Chief Ogbonnaya who is the state Commissioner for Trade and Investment appealed to the people of Abia central to continue to support the Senator.

Speaking on behalf of the celebrant and Senator representing Abia Central in the National Assembly, Senator T.A Orji, the Commissioner for Public Utilities and Water Resources, Chief Chidiebere Nwoke described Senator Orji as the number one Senator in the federation considering his achievements within the last three years explaining that Senator Orji has performed creditably well in the three duties of a legislator including oversight, legislation and representation. According to Chief Nwoke, the bills been sponsored by Senator Orji, when enacted have life-changing effects on the Nigerian citizenry.

Chief Nwoke stated that Senator Orji within his three (3) years in office, instituted the Senator T. A Orji annual scholarship scheme which over one hundred and eighty (180) students in various institutions of higher learning have so far benefitted, distributed over forty (40) keke napep, given out one hundred thousand naira (100,000) each to over one hundred youths trained in different skills, among others.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief Liaison Officer to Senator T. A Orji, Chief Ifeanyi Umere opined that Senator Orji means well for the people of Abia central senatorial district. He described Senator Orji as a pathfinder, a political colossus, whose stay in the Senate has been so impactful and thanked all who came to celebrate the Senator.

Contributing, a former T.C Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu who spoke on the Senator T.A Orji Direct Touch Initiative explained that the initiative cuts across youth development, sports, social amenities, education etc. Alhaji Ukandu revealed that many communities in the zone have benefitted from the initiative such as boreholes, rural electrification, town halls, football sponsorship etc.

In there separate reactions, the State PDP Chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, the Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Chief Ginger Onwusibe who spoke on behalf of the six LGA Chairmen in Abia Central, the PDP Chairman Umuahia North LGA, Prince Ben Okezie who spoke on behalf of the six LGA PDP Chairmen in Abia Central, described Senator Orji as a man with a heart of gold who has touched many lives positively. They eulogized the Senator promising him of more grassroots support.

Highpoint of the event were cutting of anniversary cake, endorsement of Senator T. A Orji for a second term and special prayers for Senator Orji by Rt. Rev Ibeawuchi Agwu while it attracted the presence of many dignitaries including the Commissioner for Industries, Chief Henry Ikoh, the state Accountant General, Sir Gabriel Onyendilefu, General Manager Abia State Signage and Advertisements Agency Chief Gan Alozie, Engr Augustine Alaribe, the immediate past Chairman of ASOPADEC Rt. Hon Emeka Stanley, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Rehabilitation Sir David Chidi Ezindu, the Clark/Permanent Secretary of Abia State House of Assembly, Sir John Pedro Ironkansi, Former VC ABSU Professor Chibuzo Ogbuagu, traditional rulers, Pro Ikpeazu and Ochendo groups, among many others.
