The Senator Representing Abia North Senatorial Zone,Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, today, visited the people of Isu Ancient Kingdom of Arochukwu LGA,over the recent communal clash between them and their neighbouring community of Utuma,Cross River State..
Speaking to the displaced people of Isu,the Senator, said he was in the area to console with them,over the recent communal clash,which claimed the lives of many indigenes of Isu and also the destruction of property,worth millions of naira and charged them to embrace peace, advising them not to take laws in their hands,and promised them of the readiness of of the State and Federal Government to assist them,in making sure that the dispute is resolved in order to return peace to the area..
The Senator, who had moved a motion of urgent importance over the recent incident, promised the affected indigenes of his plans to draw the attention of the Federal Government to their plight and maintained that in no distant time, the Government will come to their aid,to help them in rebuilding the houses and also to find a lasting solution to the dispute..
Also Speaking, the Secretary to the State Government,Dr.Eme Okoro,the Honorable Commissioner for Boundary and Conflict Resolution, Hon.Mascot Imo Obike,said that the State Government is in touch with her neighbouring State of Cross River and assured them of their doggedness in making sure that a peaceful atmosphere is achieved in the area..
The Senator was accompanied on the visit by;the SSG,Dr.Eme Okoro,Commissioners, Hon.Imo Obike,Barr.Gabe Iboko,the D.G Follow Better,Dr.Ndubuisi Ekeh,Executive Chairman of Arochukwu,Hon.Kalu James Kalu,some and many other stakeholders..
Highlight of the visit, was the presentation of relief materials to the displaced people and a courtesy call on the Traditional Ruler of The Isu Ancient Kingdom, HRM Eze Dr.Ogbonnya Eze,Eze Chichi the Vi of Isu Kingdom..
