Six days to the Anambra governorship election, five leading candidates are slugging it out in the governorship debate organised by Channels Television.
Those debating each other include Mr Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress (APC); incumbent governor, Mr Willie Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, and Mr Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also participating in the debate are Mr Godwin Ezeemo of the Progressives People’s Alliance (PPA) and Mr Osita Chidoka of the United Progressive Party (UPP).
More than two million people are registered to vote in the election, which will take place on Saturday, November 18 and the candidates are pushing to win over votes by explaining their plans.

Tony Nwoye (APC)
Born August 13, 1974 in Anambra

Career: Politics – Student unionism (NANS President), Anambra PDP Chairman, PDP Governorship aspirant (2013); Construction (he is the owner of Vintage Consolidated Ltd, a construction, building, and Engineering company).
Willie Obiano (APGA)
Born August 8, 1955 in Anambra
Education: B.Sc Accounting, MBA Marketing – University of Lagos
Career: Banking (First Bank, Fidelity Bank, oil and gas (Chevron, Texaco), politics (APGA)
Oseloka Obaze (PDP)
Born April 9, 1955 in Anambra
Education: B.Sc in Political Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University, Master’s in Political Science (M.A.) from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Career: Civil Service, Diplomacy (United Nations), Author, Politician (SSG – Peter Obi, Obiano; APGA governorship candidate, 2013), Consultancy

Career: Government Relations Advisor to Exxon Mobil; Corps Marshall and CEO of Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps; and a one-time Minister of Aviation in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
