Lagos lawyer, pro- democracy and human rights activist, and mercurial social justice crusader, Femi Falana, SAN, x- rays with frothing passion the wart and dirt of the nation’s decaying institutions, using the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), and the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) as top of the range. Indeed, he hinted to Sunday Sun in his office in Lagos that he had concluded plans to sue the CBN for flagrant violations of the act that set it up, by dollarizing the economy and weakening the nation’s currency, the naira.
He charges: “unknown to most Nigerians the principal function of the Central Bank of Nigeria today is to sell dollars every Friday, without minding about the effects.”

As he sues the CBN, he wants the incoming government to take urgent radical measures to rescue it from the clutches of imperialist organizations like the IMF, and World Bank. He carpets INEC for consistently organizing shoddy and expensive elections. On the promises made by the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, (Retd), he reveals that civil society organizations have compiled the list, and will in due course hold him to them.

He speaks more on confetti of issues, bordering on agenda setting for the incoming government, his own way of saying goodbye to President Goodluck Jonathan, how the media flouted sections of the Electoral Act which forbids preaching and coverage of political activities in churches, mosques and other religious grounds, among others. This interview is vintage Falana- sizzling, combative, riveting, and revealing.
